Blue Mesa Reservoir is Colorado’s largest body of water. The reservoir, when full, is 19 miles long and has over 90 miles of shoreline. Blue Mesa is known for having big fish and for having the largest kokanee salmon fishery in the United States.

Outdoors: Media on the hunt for shark team
Local concerns about too many seals in our waters are nothing new. From 1888 to 1962, between 72,000 and 135,000 seals were killed for a bounty in Massachusetts. Maine paid out even more bounties during that time. The policy, which was aimed at eliminating the voracious fish eaters to help commercial fishermen, contributed to the demise and then full protection of seals in our waters.
